Catching up!

I thought I would post "a few" of my favorite pictures from this last year. The snowmen are from January last year. We have had very little snow this year, so this picture helps me remember what my favorite season is supposed to be like!
Easter Jeep Safari was great. We camped in Moab five days. We did a trail called Kane Creek on Big Saturday. This is the creek and what a lot of the "trail" looked like. The rest of it was really rocky.

Jared doing what he does best. He is a guide on the trail Gold Bar Rim every year. He works really hard and loves every minute of it. It is a perfect opportunity for him to do two of his favorite things ; talk jeep and help people out.
The Waterfall.

Mallory on her 6th Birthday.

Mattie on her 4th Birthday.

In early May we went to Baby Animal days at a living historical farm in Cache Valley. Mallory is in a bear skin. I thought she was pretty brave. Lots of other kids wouldn't even get near it.

There were all kinds of things to do at the farm. They had every thing from little turtles and hissing cockroaches to ducks, rabbits and kicking alpaca's. We rode wagons, horses, made bug catchers and bird feeders, petted everything, ran from a baby brahma bull, ate kettle corn and stepped in all kinds of doo! What a great day!

Cousins are the best!

Just south of the town of Green River, Utah there is Crystal Geyser. It spouts about 20 yards from the edge of the Green River and all the water and minerals run downhill right into it, leaving these great layers of mineral deposits that you can get right up to and investigate. You don't get to do that in Yellowstone! The geyser didn't go off while we were there, (it did bubble a bit), but we had a great time exploring.

These next few pictures are a bit out of order, but we made quick trip to Bear Lake with the Berry ladies and kids. We stopped at the Logan temple on the way home.

The weather was not very warm to go swimming in the lake, but of course kids don't really care.
Giovanna, Tasha, Kenneth, Kalea, Paul, Mallory, Sage, Mattie, Logan, Abrianna, and Isaac.

Here they all are again in the ancient Limber Pine. A nice trail at the top of Logan Canyon before you drop down to Bear Lake.

In June we had a fantastic vacation up through eastern Idaho, Montana's Glacier National Park, back down through Yellowstone, the Tetons, and Cache Valley. The kids were fantastic travelers! We spent most of our nights camping in our tent.
Going to the Sun Road was partially closed, but we were still thrilled to be there.
Who needs to drive when you can play with rocks! We played with a lot of rocks on our trip.

My dream is to get back there someday and hike to Sperry Chalet. One of the parks last hike in only lodges.
The Kwataqnuk Princess on Flathead Lake, aka the Ghetto Cruiser. Three and half hours of pure Montana redneck entertainment! The boat didn't work so great so we did a lot of floating and you couldn't use the bathroom. WHeew! To this day, the charge has never showed up on our bank statements.
The best part was the view from the top.

Camping is fun!

Anybody need Salsa? We made 33 pints and our tomatoes were finished off EARLY by the frost. What would I have done with more?!!!! Our first attempt at a real garden went pretty well. This next year we have to figure out what to do with the weeds though!

The mighty hunter/hiker on Fishcreek Ridge.

Mallory went on her first Deer Hunt this year. Jared did not get a deer, but we had a great time sneaking around the hills. The weather was great and as you can see, we wore Mallory out.

We can't believe Isaac is two years old now. His lovely colored cake is a "Moab" cake. It doesn't look so great, but it tasted good.

Mallory designed this pumpkin all by herself and cut most of it out too. We had a nice crop of pumpkins in our garden this year. After we decorated and carved a bunch, we still had plenty to cook up and put in the freezer for year round pumpkin goodness.

A Wizard of OZ Halloween!

Oh the life of a boy with big sisters. The girls couldn't stop giggling and Isaac was going right along with it.

I love your pictures of Glacier National Park! Now that's how camping is supposed to be. In fact, I dream of living in a place like that! Oh, that's right, I once did. :)

More pics that I love. Seeing you out having fun makes me feel cabin feverish. :) Another few months and I'll be able to get out and hike again.
